The Ring~

It had been a long time since I wrote any descriptive real life story. So I thought yesterday was a night worth remembering and thus this blog. =D So, read on~

"There should be 5 rings in a relationship; 1st ring given at first month..." these words either said jokingly or they actually have a meaning behind them.

Standing by her side, while on the escalator coming down from Raffles City to City Hall MRT, these words struck Vincent in a positive manner. Vincent had always wanted to get a common item that both he and his girlfriend, Geraldine could wear but he was afraid that a ring may seem alittle too overwhelming for her. But upon hearing those words out of her mouth, he felt a heavy stone lifted off his heart. He grinned at the many ideas that sprung out of his mind how he could profess his love when he presented the ring to her.

Vincent then began a 3 day long search for the ring that is simple and yet lovely for both of them. He finally found it at a corner shop in bugis. It is called "Silver Corner". The designs were simple and yet sweet. Engravings were allowed. Names and dates. And thus the rings read "Vincent loves Geraldine" for the lady's and "Geraldine loves Vincent" for the men. Under the ring, the date where both this couple got together was engraved. It read "29.3.09". Ring was collected just yesterday and Vincent began to foster his plan for how he is going to present and reveal the ring to his love.

"Why conform to conformity?" has always been Vincent's way of living. He loves to be different and great thanks to God, Geraldine think likewise too! This sets Vincent thinking how he should present it to her. He does not want it to be so cliche nor does he want it to be too shabby or not sincere. A walk around a gift shop proves to be a great idea for this purpose! Soft toys would be too common and cliche. A box would be too unsincere. And then Vincent came across a doorstopper.

"Doorstopper?" He thought, "why not?" A huge grin came about his face.

This doorstopper is a very speical one. Its shaped like a cat and it has got a collar around her neck. And he thought he would put the ring behind the collar and present the doorstopper to her until she realised upon closer inspection that it is no extraordinary gift. "Great idea!" he thought.

Off to cashier and a plan devised. And its time for show down. At the cashier, Vincent's colleague saw a special card that is so unique you could not have missed. So now, the line up: Kitty doorstopper fitted with ring and a special card with a special mechanism. All is good and well. Time for show down...

Geraldine did not work afternoon shift and thus came to meet Vincent before his lesson at PSB Academy. Vincent thought it is a good idea to hand over the special card to her and thus to prepare her for what is to come (Geraldine told Vincent that she'll run if she sense something fishy. Vincent just thinks she is too shy =) )

So break time came and when Vincent went to look for Geraldine, she asked him with a perculiar curiosity, "Whats the doorstopper?"

With a smurk grin, Vincent said "You'll know later. "

"My face went red when I was trying to figure how to read the card you gave me." said Geraldine with a silly tone.

"I think your face turn even redder later. " said Vincent with a even bigger grin written all over his face.

"I have got to go. Lessons going to stay soon." announced Vincent.

Geraldine gave a very silly face that says "I miss you and come back soon". With a ruffling of her hair and a kiss, Vincent went off back to class. But as Vincent walked down the walkway, Geraldine was staring at him. And when he turned back, Geraldine would mouth these words "I miss you."

Lesson ended and then plan execution. =)

Vincent thought of bringing Geraldine to Coffee Club and to profess and then present the ring to her. But both of them were super hungry and they thought of just going straight to Mos Burger at Tiong Bahru Plaza. A strategically chosen seat at Mos was taken, having Geraldine cornered and eliminating the possibility of her running away.

Geraldine was being very very shy. Gasping for air whenever Vincent pulls his hand out from his bag. At the least expected, he pulled out the acclaimed "doorstopper" and puts it in front of her. Without any notice, he pulls out the couple ring and place it on his finger and purposely asked Geraldine to hold his hand. Geraldine felt the ring and she start to hyperventilate(this edit was demanded by Geraldine. "I demand this sentence to be changed~")

"Look closely at the doorstopper." said vincent.

Geraldine remained silent as her face became the colour of a tomato. (Sorry baby~)

Vincent reached out fo the doorstopper and put it infront of her and said "Oh! What is this shiny thing on the collar of the kitty doorstopper?"

Geraldine went from pale to red and if there was a thermal scan, people would have thought she was struck with fever!

Vincent took out the ring from the kitty's collar and wore the ring for Geraldine on her finger and it fit nicely and snugly.

Plan well done and successfully executed. =)

This is a milestone for both Geraldine and Vincent and will forever be remembered for the rest of their lives. Right Geraldine? =D

Lets complete GV and lets hope QSB be done concurrently. I want that to happen asap. =D Dont want you to be stuck in current difficult situation. =D
